Maria Hilf-Kapelle

Nach dem schweren Lawinenwinter von 1720, platzierte die Bevölkerung zum Schutz vor weiteren Naturkatastrophen am Rand des Gurschenwaldes ein Bild der Gottesmutter. Da Marien-Wallfahrten damals in Mode waren, wurde dieses rasch ein beliebtes Pilgerziel. Um die Massen an Besuchenden empfangen zu können, wurde eine erste kleine Kapelle errichtet, die 1736 durch das heutige Kirchlein ersetzt wurde. In der Maria Hilf-Kapelle werden nach wie vor Messen abgehalten und sie ist ein begehrter Ort für Hochzeiten.

After the heavy winter of avalanches in 1720, the population placed a picture of Our Lady on the edge of the Gurschenwald to protect them from further natural disasters. Since Marian pilgrimages were in vogue at the time, it quickly became a popular pilgrimage destination. In order to be able to receive the masses of visitors, a first small chapel was built, which was replaced by the current church in 1736. Masses are still held in the Maria Hilf Chapel and it is a popular place for weddings.
